about us
The Asian Pacific American Women's Leadership Institute (APAWLI) is the only national, non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing and enriching leadership skills for Asian American and Pacific Island women leaders. Our mission is to address the challenges facing us and to nurture trusteeship within our communities by expanding leadership capacity, fostering awareness of Asian American and Pacific Island issues, creating a supportive network of Asian American and Pacific Island women, and strengthening community.

The Leadership Training Program
Each year, a group of outstanding
Asian American and Pacific Island women is selected for one or two leadership trainings designed to nurture their development as ethical, caring leaders. They meet for three one-week sessions in different U.S. cities for the National Program and the second weekend of each month in one city for the Discovery Leadership Program. Upon completion of the program, each "Fellow" is expected to create and implement a Leadership Impact Project which positively changes the lives of at least 25 people for the National Program and 100 people in the Discovery Leadership Program.

Hear Our Voices: Asian and Pacific American Women Defining Our Future
Since APAWLI began, its sisters often gathered to network and share insights and information. A recurring theme at these gatherings was the desire to bring together women from across the country more often. APAWLI listened to its sisters and created a series of one-day regional leadership intensive workshops and national summits.

Fee For Service Program
Since APAWLI began its one-day workshops and bi-annual summits, we have received numerous requests from individuals to conduct our courses specifically for their organizations. To meet these requests, APAWLI has created a fee for service program, which will allow us to offer selected courses in our curriculum to corporations, non-profit organizations and government entities.
